In order to avoid wasting money, the company needs to know exactly what training is needed for its staff to achieve their set goals, be it a new product or a new service.

Grant, I wholeheartedly agree with you. With an individual, company or organisation, you must have defined goals to achieve and a training path with which to achieve those goals. A Training Needs Analysis (TNA) should be considered as well as perhaps web-based training utilising a Learning Management System (LMS) based upon SCORM methodologies. Thanks for the comment.
